Transportation in Essaouira

Transportation in Essaouira is not quite difficult. Essaouria, the small port city in Morocco is a beautiful place which is visited by tourists from all over the world.
One can reach Essaouira by road, rail and by air.

Roadways: Getting to Essaouira by Road one can take the N1 freeway of Tanger to Marrakech and the Chichaoua highway of 180km. If there is more of journey and less of intervals then you can surely cover the distance in 10-12 hours. There is a toll tax on the freeway which is 75 Dirhams

Bus: The city is interconnected with bus services with Marrakech and Casablanca. The bus journey from Tangier to Essaouira will cost 150 Dirhams.

Rail: Essaouira is not connected to any railway network. The train will take you to Marrakech and from their you can avail the bus services of the railway company to reach Essaouira.

Air: Morocco's biggest airline is Royal Air Maroc which provides the countries national and international flights. However flights to Essaouira airport are often cancelled. One can take a flight from Tangier to Essaouira. Essaouira is also linked with Casablanca and Marrakech.

Boat: You can also take a boat ride till Tarifa to reach Essaouira.
