traditions it has developed various museums. These museums not only give us
an insight into Fez's way of life but also the direction of Fez's history and
the dimension it has taken.
Fez has many interesting museums, throwing a light into there traditional
crafts, art, music, culture and their glorious weaponry. Some of the more famous
ones are as follows:
Museum of Andalusian Music:
This museum is housed within a cultural complex, which showcases a library,
art gallery and museum, along with a music conservatory.
Arms Museum of the Borj Nord:
This is a 16th century fortress which has now been converted into a museum,
displaying the golden age of weaponry from around the world. It puts to display
some of the finest Moroccan weapons like the: dagger encrusted with stones,
rifle with inlaid butts etc. these antique arms, well-kept, bring out the splendor
of fez.
Belghazi Museum:
This museum puts forth traditional crafts from Morocco, especially from Fez.
Nejjarine Museum:
This museum puts forward a huge collection of woodwork from all ages.
Dar Batha Museum:
Dar Batha Museum was a Hispano-Moorish palace which was built towards the end
of the XIXth century by Sultan Moulay al-Hassan I. This museum showcases a diverse
collection of traditional art from Fez, the intellectual capital of Morocco.
