Fez Language

Morocco has its official language as Arabic. Fez has its official language as Arabic but there are also eight other languages spoken all over Morocco. The languages spoken in the land of Morocco are Spanish, Berber while French is most spoken here. National or Official language is however Standard Arabic. The literacy level in Morocco is 30% to 50% and the number of languages which are collectively used here is 11 out of which only 9 are commonly used.

Living Language in Fez: Fez in Morocco has many languages like Arabic, Hassaniyya, Mauri, Moor, Sulaka, Hasanya, Hassani, Semitic. Many dialects are also used like Arabic, Fez, Meknes, Jebli, Southern Morocco Arabic and others. Spanish is spoken by over 20,000 people in Morocco and is a strong influence on the culture of the land. Tachelhit is spoken by 3-4 million people of Morocco while Tarifit is a lesser used dialect of the Berber language. French is spoken by half of the population and has a strong influence on the French Architecture in many areas of Fez and Morocco.

Fez Sign Languages: There are many languages used in Teotouan and other such places. Many Dialects are also spoken like the Algerian Sign language which has a strength of 60-70 men in the deaf community.

The languages which have become extinct:
There are some languages in Fez which have become extinct like Ghomara as it is intelligible with Tariflt and Senhaja de Srair.
