Geography of Fez

Morocco - Essaouira - Fez - Marrakech - Agadir
Area: The City of Fez in morocco encompasses a surface area of about 20000 kilometer square and covers 2.8% of the total surface area of the country of Morocco.

Climate: Fez is characterized with extremes of temperature. Winters are very cold while the summers see a blazing temperature of 45 degree Celsius. The best climatic condition is enjoyed by the place during spring and autumn.

Landscape: Fez is a valley and has a palpable bowl like shape. Walking downhill, you can reach the center of the city while climbing uphill will take you to the outskirts. The streets are consequently too steep and you need to put a lot of effort into your walk through the place. The general landscape is uneven but the Ville Nouville has some splendid boulevards that are lined with green trees. You will also get to see some trees in Place Seffarine that will remind you that the place had earlier been a river valley with the clear, gentle waters of Fez running by it. The city, besides being one of the oldest is also one of the largest in Africa. The areas around Fez have beautiful and limpid lakes, forests and overwhelming mountains of Middle Atlas and lend a mystic beauty to the entire place.
