Bab Boujeloud , Fez, seems so very young in spite of being set amidst so
much of old historic grandeur. It is among the most famous of all the gates of
Morocco and it is also very interesting. This by itself attracts a great number
of tourists.

This particular gate was built in the year 1913 which is obviously quite late
when compared to the other architectural aspects of Fez. The Bab Boujeloud ,
Fez commemorated the completion of the Fez el Jedid and also the Fez el Bali.
Description of Bab Boujeloud , Fez
The gate stands as an amazing feat of architecture. It has a strange striking
beauty about it that is most attractive and impressive as well. It has got many
openings through which one can see the houses and the lovely minarets of Fez.
It is a good introduction to the beauties and the charm of Fez.
Upon entering you will notice that the color of the mosaics has changed. The
exterior is in blue and this signifies Fez while the interior turns green. This
is so because green signifies the color of Islam.
