Fez has excellent connectivity in terms of transportation. This city is well connected by buses, taxis, trains and plane. While you will have an enormous variety to choose from while commuting from place to place within, outside or around the city, the best way to move around in Fez will be the bus services. Along with being convenient they are cheap, frequent and available at all junctions. You can travel from the ninth century Fès El Bali ('Old Fès') to the13th-century Fès El Jedid ('New Fès') in the western part of the city or take a bus from gate to gate around the ramparts. These services are also instrumental in traveling between Nouvelle Ville and Fès El Bal. But beyond certain pick up and drop points these bulky means of conveyance are not allowed, this is especially true in case of the Old Fez, as protecting the ancient structure of the city becomes the prime concern here. There are also certain bus services running from Fez to various tourist sites outside the city. The main bus terminal, "Gare routiere" is situated in the northern side of the city, near Ain Zleten. The bus services can also be taken to reach Fez from other cities in Morocco and vice-versa.
