If you think of Fez hospitals the first thing that comes to mind is the recently
constructed "Hassan II" University Hospital. With its state of art medical facilities
and equipments, this hospital rises above all other medical establishments.
Constructed to meet the growing demand of the Fez people, it also has within
it four departments namely:
- "El Ghassani Hospital" for surgery;
- "Omar Drissi Hospital" for ophthamology and dental
- "Ibnou Hassan Hospital" for psychiatry
- "El Ibnou Baitar Hospital" for neurology and rheumatology
Besides the above given ventures, Fez also has Hospital Al Ghassani / Dar Dbibegh
(telephone Number- 212556227/76/77/78), Public hospitals and hospitals a bus
ride from the main city.
Fez also has various other medical facilities and with the Moroccan Governments
assistance these facilities are further being enhanced. The city of Fez has
experienced international medical supports and assistance from various international
agencies. A number of international medical work shops have also been conducted
to facilitate the medical services being offered to the residents of Fez. Missions
such as "Operation Smile", conducted by a team of 44 medical experts also hold
a center stage in such medical collaborations.
Fez's hospitals have evolved over a period of time and have developed into
places providing sophisticated medical treatment to the people of Fez.
