Description of the Ali Ben Youssef Mosque, Marrakech- Ali Ben Youssef Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakech and was originally constructed in the second half of the 12th century. Later the Ali Ben Youssef Mosque, Marrakech was demolished and rebuilt several times. Each time it came up with a new architectural pattern. The latest refurbishment was executed in the Merenid style. It is one of the most noteworthy monuments in Marrakesh.
Adjacent to the Ali Ben Youssef Mosque, Marrakech is the Ali Ben Youssef Medersa, a law-abiding place meant for meditation which is neatly adorned with some stunning examples of stucco ornamentation. No longer put to use, this place was at one point of time the house of the largest Koranic School in North Africa.
