Dar Moha Restaurant Marrakech
Morocco - Essaouira - Fez - Marrakech - Agadir
Dar Moha Restaurant, once a stylish raid has been lovingly renovated and is now a restaurant serving gourmets since 2000. The previous owner of this establishment was Pierre Balmain who sold it to the present Owner-chef Moha. Though hardly a historic institution, this restaurant has already got raved reviews from some of the toughest food critics for its fixed menu of nouvelle cuisine marocaine.
Perhaps the only thing that matches up to the sumptuous palate offered in this Marrakech restaurant is its heavenly ambience, with tables placed beneath lush banana palms around a small sparkling pool.
The delicious adaptations of traditional dishes created by Moha and his Swiss wife Alma, are a must have, while eating at this restaurant. These specialties include a tiny melt-in-the-mouth pastilla filled with a purée of vegetables, a lightly spiced monkfish tagine with a macédoine of fresh zucchini and tomatoes, and strawberries wrapped in wafer-thin pastry and rolled in ground almonds.
To add to the ambience there are Andalousian flutists playing the most entrancing tunes while a belly dancer swishes between tables later in the evening. The restaurant remains closed on Mondays and no lunch is served here.
