Tiout Morocco

Tiout, Morocco lies in the south east of Taroudannt, one of the most well known cities in Morocco. As with many other cities in Morocco, Tiout in Morocco is known for its magnificent ruins of the yesteryear constructions.

Tiout, Morocco seems like an oasis in the desert with green and fresh vegetation around the city. It has the palm groves with small roads and water canals running between them.

Tiout boasts of an ancient Kasbah which was used for the Hollywood film Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, as a décor in 1952. This has been turned into a restaurant now, which is one of Morocco popular destinations.

One major tourist attraction here is a donkey ride in the palmaraie which is also a source of income for the villagers who offer their donkeys for hire by the visitors.

The visitors in Tiout, Morocco may stay in the Kasbah. However there are better places to stay in Taroudannt which lays 30Kilometers north of Tiout, Morocco. It is one of the biggest cities untouched by any foreign invaders. Hence it has maintained its original culture and architecture.
