The Tafraoute Mountains, Morocco, surrounded by the mountain village of Tafraoute, is located in the East of Tinzit, on the Southern part of Agadir. The main charm of the Tafraoute Mountains is in its unique pink peaks. People from far and wide also come here to see the mystifying painted rocks. Jean Verame, a Belgium artist had colored some of the boulders of the Tafraoute Mountains in Morocco in 1984, with red, blue and black paints. Though the paint has paled down considerably, it still remains one of the major tourist attractions in Morocco. Well connected by a transport it can also be reached easily.
Apart from relaxing in the absolutely soothing surrounding and inhaling the cool mountain air the Tafraoute Mountains, Morocco offers some exciting physical activities as well. There is nothing like a bike tour around the winding mountain paths, or it would be even better to hike to the nearby valleys. The Ameln Valley near the Tafraoute Mountains, with its 26 Berber villages is place surely worth exploring.
