There are many hospitals that exist in all the major cities in Morocco. There are both public and private hospitals that provide all the major health cures. Pharmacies are also available in all big and small towns and villages. All the major hospitals are well equipped with modern instruments, machinery and well-qualified doctors.

The Government Hospitals are also well equipped and often provide free or cheap emergency care. But you might also be expected to pay for your treatment, so you should Have your fully comprehensive medical insurance including cover for repatriation costs.

It is recommended to be vaccinated against polio and typhoid before travelling to Morocco. Some of the important vaccinations to be taken care of in Morocco include Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Diphtheria, Malaria and Hepatitis. The health care division of Morocco also suggests getting vaccinated for Hepatitis B and Rabies. All these vaccinations can be provided by your local GP.

It is important to carry sterilize drinking water or buy bottled water for drinking. Though the tap water in main cities is safe to drink but it is recommended that tourists stick to bottled water for at least the initial days their stay.

While visiting small cities and towns, it is highly recommended to use sterilize water before use. Milk is un-pasteurised and so it should be avoided. It is also advised to avoid dairy products in Morocco. Meat should be well cooked and served hot and fruit and vegetables should be peeled and cooked respectively before use.
