Artis Gallery in Auckland is a contemporary gallery with a strong exhibition focus, representing a diverse range of leading New Zealand painters, sculptors and photographers. It has been operating as a dealer gallery in Auckland for over 20 years. The gallery first opened its doors at 10 High St in 1984. It stayed in these relatively small premises for two years before moving to larger premises at 18 High St. During 1987, Artis Gallery in Auckland was moved to Herne Bay where the business remained for two years until the current owner, Jonathan Gooderham, bought the business.
