When to Go to Auckland

New Zealand - Auckland - Christchurch - Queenstown - Wellington
Located in the upper North Island area of New Zealand, Auckland is home to almost 1.3 million people which stands for a third of the country's total population. Often nicknamed the City of Sails, Auckland is New Zealand's largest and most cosmopolitan city boasting three harbors, two mountain ranges, 84 volcanic cones and over 50 islands. If you are wondering as to when to go to Auckland, try visiting the waterside city during the warm weather between the months of November and April when most of the schools remain closed for the summer holidays between December 20 and late January.

To a lesser extent, you should be having no problem to decide when to go to Auckland, for the city is also pulling crowds during the Easter weekend, the Labor Day in late October and the mid-year school holidays. January and February are the best months for the beach weather, while December and March are usually warm, and even hot to a certain extent. The period between November and April is slightly cooler, and hence not advisable for hanging around the beach, despite the fact that it is noticeably quieter and accommodation is easier to find.

"When to go to Auckland?" is a question easily answered for the city has a strong pulse and a nautical twinkle in its eye. It is complemented by the lush flora of the subtropical forests of the nearby hills and lava landscape. With its spectacular harbor and bridge, the largest city of New Zealand ranks with the best in the world and the districts find their way through a variety of bays that are just perfect for swimming, water sports and especially yachting. The warm coastal climate without any extremes of temperature make autumn and spring the busiest of tourist seasons when vacationers flock the city by thousands.
