The celebrated Roman emblem SPQR stands for the Latin phrase, Senatus Populusque Romanus, which translates into the 'Senate and People of Rome'. Established in the year 1992, the SPQR was formerly a mechanics garage and was one of the first of the new-age establishments to open up in this part of Auckland, which was once a red light area.
