Summer Times Festival is a fun-filled extravaganza ushering the advent of summer
and all the goodness associated with it. The festival started 24 years ago by
the Christchurch City Council to provide a range of free events and activities
for Christchurch and its surrounding communities. Eventually, the program has
included the Cathedral Square New Years Eve Party, Classical Sparks, Candlelight
Opera and the Teddy Bears Picnic. The latest attractions to join the band are
the Summer Theatre, Great Kids Camp-out and Kite Day at New Brighton Beach.
