The Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura has been operating dolphin tours from 1989- 90. Experience the world of wonderful marine environment as you step into the Dolphin Encounter. The Dolphin Encounter is an 8.8 meter catamaran powered by twin 220 HP Volvo diesels machines. There is a vessel that has a capacity of 13 swimmers and 4 spectators.
The Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura is located next to the great underwater canyon that has a depth of 1200 meters. The waters of the canyon are ideal for pods of dusky dolphins and sperm whales.

Tourists who are interested in swimming and snorkeling are requested to take special care so that the innocent creatures are harmed in no way. As the dusky dolphins are not trained it is necessary to take care that they do not go wild. For this reason wise behavior from tourists is appreciated.
