Queen Charlotte Sound New Zealand

New Zealand - Auckland - Christchurch - Queenstown - Wellington
Queen Charlotte Sound is one of the easternmost sounds of the Marlborough Sounds, the extended maze of sheltered waterways in the north-eastern nook of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a beautiful drowned valley that runs southwest to before merging with the Cook Strait. The Queen Charlotte Sound which is characterized by bush-clad coastlines and deep coves and bays can be best explored by sea kayaking.
However in order to reach this awe-inspiring place you may avail the Wellington ferry service that arrives in the harbor of Picton.

The Queen Charlotte Sound, exuberantly blessed with natural beauty teems with diverse wildlife species and is a must-see for all tourists visiting New Zealand. These wildlife species include copious seabirds, six species of aquatic mammals such as dusky dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and Hector's dolphins, orca (killer whale) and New Zealand fur seals.

The outermost Queen Charlotte Sound consists of four reserve islands that are covered with New Zealand bush. The Queen Charlotte Sound also houses the striking Queen Charlotte Track. This 71km track extends between the the Queen Charlotte and Keneperu Sound. The Queen Charlotte track offers fascinating landscapes, a variety of wildlife and historical landmarks. You can walk down this scenic track and enjoy the spell-binding vista of the Marlborough Sounds and watch the marine animals and the bird sanctuary. If you are lucky enough then you can suddenly spot a wild pig while walking down the track of the Queen Charlotte Sound, especially the region between the Punga Cove and Portage during the winter months. But don't get scared by them as these pigs come out only in search of food and will run way from the walkers.

A wide range of accommodation is available along the Queen Charlotte track where the visitors can rest. Water transport services are also available that are engaged in transferring your luggage so that you can enjoy your tour.
