The origin of Tennis is traced back to 14 th century in France, when originally the game was played with the palm of a hand and hence was named Paume. There are four Tennis Courts in this club. Tennis is normally played on a flat, rectangular surface especially on grass, clay or hard court made of asphalt or concrete.

The Courts are usually 78 feet (23.77 m) long and 27 feet (8.23 m) wide in case of single matches and 36 feet (10.97 m) in case of doubles matches.

The red court in tennis is generally used at the French Open, the green clay courts are mainly used at US Tennis events, Hard courts are used at Australian Open.

The indoor courts were made of wood and this tradition continued till 1960s, in the recent years it is either cemented or carpeted.
