Surrounded by Southern Alps and located around a brook on Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is breathtakingly beautiful. However the real tourist attraction of Queenstown lies elsewhere. Considered by many as a Mecca for adventure sports enthusiasts, Queenstown offers all possible and imaginable varieties of adventure sports. Tourists find the call to conquer untamed Shotover River irresistible. There are ten rapids stretched along the course of this wild river. The most interesting part is however when your boat journeys through the dark 170 meter Oxenbridge tunnel. The treacherous ride will always linger in your memory. Bungee jumping is now the in-thing. The 141 feet fall from the Kawarau Bridge is a major tourist attraction in Queenstown. If jumping off the bridge does not seem daring enough; do not be disappointed. You can experience the thrill of your lifetime by jumping off the top of a mountain. The 1300 feet fall with only cord attached to your ankle will surely give you an adrenaline rush like you never experienced before. If you really want to appreciate the breath taking view of Queenstown, get on a plane. A major tourist attraction, the plane takes a group of people on a sight seeing tour of snow capped Alps and adjoining areas. If you are dare enough, jump off the plane and experience free fall and finish off the hell of a ride with a parachute flight. A ride on Shotover Jet over Shotover River is considered by many as the ultimate in thrill. The ride would take you through rocky protrusions as you journey at a fast speed along the white water. If you are however a nature lover, Fiordland National Park is the place you want to be. Stretching across approximately 3 million acres, the park has gurgling waterfalls, amazing wildlife, elegant mountains and dense vegetation. Considered as one of the wettest places in the world, a few spells of shower and waterfalls are created everywhere. This is a great tourist destination in Queenstown.
