The resort town of Queenstown is situated in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. You then come face to face with the awesome predators of the deep - sharks – which you can see from a few centimeters away. The new exhibit Stingray Bay shows off Kelly Tarlton's stingrays to their best advantage in a giant 350,000 litre open-topped tank. The tank at its deepest point is 2.6m and is constructed of crystal clear acrylic for optimum viewing. The remarkable winded creatures can be seen in the tanks from very close quarters. Underwater World Aquarium, Queenstown is open daily from 9AM to 6PM. However entry closes at 5PM so you must make sure that you are there before time.
