craftsmen. However craftsmen from far flung areas like Nelson, Christchurch,
Dunedin, Invercargill and the West Coast also come to this market to exhibit
and sell their artistic creations. Held under the aegis of Creative Queenstown,
the market is managed by a coordinator.
The coordinator ensures that the products to be exhibited maintain a high standard
of quality. He also ensures that neither industry product, nor any imported
items are sold at this market. The entry of new tradesman to this market is
subject to approval by the coordinator regarding the quality of goods to be
sold. Upon approval by the coordinator, a new trader has to deposit a non-refundable
20 kiwi dollars. Apart from that, 20 New Zealand dollars per market day is charged
as a stall fee.
Queenstown Arts and Crafts Market, during summer (1st November to 30th April),
remain open from 8 am to 4:30 pm. You can buy goods between 9 am and 3 pm in
winter (1st May to 31st October).
