Queenstown is a resort town in New Zealand. Queenstown is popular as one of the
leading holiday destinations in New Zealand. Shopping in Queenstown is one of
the popular activities which tourists like to indulge in. No matter what, tourists
visiting Queenstown from different parts of the world always find some time to
do a bit of shopping. The most comprehensive place to go for shopping in Queenstown
is the town centre. Besides shops that offer innumerable items and products for
sale, the town centre also boasts a number of jewelry shops and outlets. One of
the renowned shops in this category is The Bead Shop.
Queenstown is a great place to buy various jewelry items like jadestone pieces,
carvings made out of bones and traditionally crafted Maori designs. The Bead
Shop in Queenstown is located at Stanley Street. There are three Bead Shops
in New Zealand's South Island. This Queenstown Bead Shop is the first ever among
them. It was set up in Queenstown in the month of August in 2001. The shop was
established by Lee Eliott and John Menzies. The objective behind setting up
the Bead Shop was to enable people of all ages to create unique wearable artworks
by themselves. The shop was materialized following the hard work and dedication
of the founders who banked on the availability of beads from different parts
of the world and the requisite tools that would enable people to design their
choice. As the Bead Shop gained in popularity, it had to be expanded. Eventually,
the other two Bead Shops were set up in Christchurch and Dunedin.
The Bead Shop is equipped with friendly staff, experienced enough to create
beautifully hand-crafted designs. Shoppers will find a huge stock of a variety
of beads. Besides, there are jewelries and gift items designed out of Paua Shell,
Pink Mussel Shell and Greenstone (Jade).
