Wellington Suburban Railway
New Zealand - Auckland - Christchurch - Queenstown - Wellington
The Suburban trains mostly run on electric lines and Wellington was the second city that saw the running of suburban trains. Among the five lines on which these trains run, the Wairarapa line is not electrified beyond Upper Hutt and the trains are drawn by diesel locomotives. The journey is relaxing and makes you feel comfortable. Contrary to the general idea about regional or suburban trains, the Tranz Metro runs at frequent intervals throughout the day. The safety and convenience of the passengers is a major concern of the railway authority. There is always a train manager and also other staffs working on the train.
The Tranz metro also offers a vast range of travel products and also special tour packages like the Wairarapa Gourmet Wine Escape that include a guided wine tasting tour to several wineries in Martinborough. You are also offered a leisurely lunch at the Village Café.
The Wellington Suburban Railway is an extremely useful mode of transport in the suburb and the impeccable services provided are more than satisfactory.
