Seatoun Beach Wellington
New Zealand - Auckland - Christchurch - Queenstown - Wellington
James Coutts Crawford developed Seatoun in 1879, and named it after a place in Forfarshire (UK) which was owned by the Crawford family.
As per the conservation policies and legal requirements of the land, no film sets from the Lord of the Rings remain. However, many Wellington tour operators know the secrets of the making of these movies, and offer package tours to visitors, taking them to places that the public does not have access to. One important place of interest during these tours is the quaint seaside suburb of Seatoun where most of the cast and crew stayed during filming.
Another popular attraction at the Seatoun Beach, Wellington is the house of Peter Jackson – often seen hanging out in his garden or on the beach.
