Located on Cuba Street in Wellington, Cafe Istanbul emanates the spirit and essence of Turkey. The restaurant opened in 1991 and was forced to expand its size due to the overwhelming popularity and increasing footfalls. The foods come at a reasonable prize range and have been satisfying the customers ever since its inception. Food: the restaurant specializes in Turkish cuisine and you will find all kinds of Turkish delicacies like shish kebab, meze platter, beef, lamb and chicken. There are vegetarian dishes as well. Don’t forget to taste the traditional Turkish sweet called Baklava that has always been praised by the visiting customers. The dessert menu is not limited to Baklava alone. You can choose from an wide array of desserts like Panacotta, Tiramasu, Turkish delight and Chocolate pudding. There are also a wide variety of breads including Turkish and Olive Breads that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. You can also order special kids meal that includes grilled chicken and chips, fish and chips and kalamar and chips. You can also visit the place in big or small groups. The Cafe Istanbul has cushioned areas specially made to cater to people coming in groups. The decoration of the interior of Cafe Istanbul is splendid. The walls made of bricks have a light rustic color. There are long tables with bench seats and also small intimate nooks for couples. Wine is available in the restaurant as well. The Cafe Istanbul is spacious and both the food and the ambience would charm the visitors. Timings: the restaurant remains open on all the seven days of the week. Sunday to Thursday: 5.30pm- 10.00pm Friday and Saturday: 5.30pm- 11.00pm It is advisable that you should make an advance reservation if you are planning to visit Cafe Istanbul on weekends.
