The National Museum was popularly known as the Museum of the House of Sayyid Nadir Bin Faysal Bin Turki. The museum falls under the Ministry of Heritage and Culture. The Museum is divided into several sections and halls. The museum is situated above the Islamic Library near the Al Fallaj Hotel. The National Museum in Muscat displays some beautiful works of silver. The museum has a very small but wonderful anthology of jewelry, costumes, painting and photographs used by the Sultans of the Al Said dynasty.

The main hall of The National Museum at Muscat displays some excellent pieces of work that depict the Omani tradition and culture. There are a number of display items like bangles, jewelry, pendants and copper items. Another popular draw of the museum is the belongings of Al Sayyidah Salimah Bint Said Bin Sultan. The things those are portrayed in the hall include various silver items such as pendants and natls.

The National Museum of Muscat also portrays a range of things which belonged to the Zanjibar's Sultan. There is a wide exposition of postal stamps, traditional ships and other items used by the Sultan.

The National Museum remains open from 9:00 AM-1:30PM all days except on Friday. The visitors have a gala while covering this museum. Tourists who love to explore the history of the rich tradition, culture and lifestyle of a country can enjoy a trip to this place.
