Originally the building of the French Embassy was constructed between the years 1896-1920.

There are seven widely spread Halls in the Omani-French Museum in Muscat. Each of these halls depicts various facets of the Omani and French relationship. Hall Two displays the pictures taken during the visit of His Majesty of Oman to France and his relation with the then French President François Mitterrand and the welcome ceremony. The halls three and four depict the relation between the two countries in the 18 th century. Hall number seven houses the prime attraction of the museum, which is the desk where 13 French Consuls worked together in the year 1920. Hall number six showcases the art and culture of the two countries. The Omani-French Museum at Muscat is a warehouse of clothes, pictures and furniture of the diplomats from France.

The Omani-French Museum in Muscat showcases the relation of the French and the Omani officials. The healthy relation between the two countries is well displayed through the photographs and other evidences in the museum. The Omani-French Museum of Muscat in Oman also portrays the models of ships used during that period. Apart from the ships a popular draw of the museum is the traditional weapons which were used during that epoch.
