Oman is located on the south east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The country is bordered by United Arab Emirates in the northwest; Yemen in the southwest and Saudi Arabia to the west. The Arabian Peninsula acts as a separation between the Asia and Africa continents. This area is characterized by dry desert. In fact most part of this country is under desert cover. The desert is a store house of huge quantities of oil and natural gas. Export of oil is the biggest source of revenue that drives the economy of this country forward. To compensate for the lack of greenery in Oman, the Sultanate has created many artificial parks and gardens. One of the best known among Oman Parks and Gardens , the Qurum Natural Park in Oman provides the much needed relief to the eyes. Qurum Natural Park in Oman was opened in 1993. With a massive area of 1715449 square meters, this park is considered to be the largest among Oman Parks and Gardens. The park is aesthetically designed with beautifully manicured trees, rose garden, serpentine pathways and a sufficiently large lake. The lake at Qurum Natural Park at Oman was artificially created. You can boat in this beautiful lake too. There is a lovely fountain at this park. Shooting water up to many feet into the air, the area around the fountain is always wet. Qurum Natural Park in Oman also houses a ‘Waterfall Hill'. Other attractions at this park include ‘Sultan Qaboos Rose Garden' and meandering pathways. The trail passes through shrubs and floral beds. The design of the park strikes a fine synergy between the nature and topographic features of the area. Qurum Natural Park of Oman is like an oasis in the dry Sultanate of Oman. So if you visit the country, do not miss out on the opportunity to take a moment of respite at this lush green park.
