Chateau de Versailles, Paris:
The Chateau de Versailles is a 15th century master piece and has also been enlisted
as a World Heritage site under UNESCO. The Chateau de Versailles, built in 1668,
was the residence of Louis XIV to Louis XVI and was also the center of power
in France.
Château de Fontainebleau:
Château de Fontainebleau is a Renaissance-style structure, located in
the forests of Fontainebleau. Initially a medieval royal hunting lodge, Château
de Fontainebleau later became home to Napoleon. The main attractions of the
Château de Fontainebleau are - Salle de Ball (a ballroom) and Grand Apartments.
Château de Chantilly:
Château de Chantilly is a beautiful structure belonging to the Chantilly
family. The Château de Chantilly houses 2500 paintings and 1500 manuscripts
and is one of the biggest museums in Paris.
Giverny:
This picturesque French village was home to the French impressionist painter
Monet. The village has now become a famous tourist center and comprises of a
few castle and museums. Monet's house is now open to visitors.
Cathedral of Chartres:
Cathedral of Chartres is a Massive gothic structure which served as an assembling
ground for Pilgrims in the 12th century.
Loire Valley Chateaux:
The Loire Valley Chateaux is also known as the Garden of France and it is most
popular for its rich cultural heritage. It also illustrates the ideas of Renaissance
and the effects of the Age of Enlightenment on the thought and design of Western
Europe.
Mont St Michel:
Mont St Michel is a Gothic Abbey situated on a rocky tidal island. It has also
been listed in UNESCO's World heritage site. This is one of the most frequented
places after the Eiffel Tower.
