Koh Samet Island (The Paradise Island)

Thailand - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Koh Samui Island - Krabi - Pattaya - Phuket
Koh Samet Island is one of the most beautiful places in Thailand and has one of the most popular beaches around Pattaya. Koh Samet Island Pattaya is also better known as The Paradise Island that owes its name to the natural exquisiteness it possesses. The name of the island has been derived from two terms: Koh means island in Thai, and Samet is tree that grows in abundance on the island. Koh Samet Island Thailand is famed for its bark that is used in traditional medicine and boat building. Koh Samet is also a well-known national park and the beach strip is nicely maintained. This land can be reached by ferry from Banpae.

Koh Samet Island lies at a distance of less than seven kms off the coast of Rayong Province in the eastern Gulf of Thailand. The island combines the charm of a tropical paradise with reasonable proximity to Bangkok and Pattaya. Koh Samet has a micro-climate. It is the driest archipelago in Thailand and hence can be visited all the year through. Koh Samet and the infinitesimal islands nearby are surrounded by coral formations in shallow water that make it enjoyable for snorkeling. Chief water sports, include sailing, parasailing, skiing, and fishing can also be arranged at a number of resorts.
