Festivals in Pattaya are of primary importance for the people of Pattaya. Tourists also enjoy the colorful festivities held at specific time of the year and make it a point to visit Pattaya at that time of the year. Ancestral Spirits Ceremony Festival is another important festival of Chonburi. It is held at Si Racha District. It has roots from old customs traditionally followed by the people of Chonburi now practiced in Si Racha. Every year from April 19th to 21st in the open grounds of Tambon Si Racha Municipal Office and on Ko Loy Si Racha the Ancestral Spirits Ceremony Festival is held. The elderly group leads a procession from different government agencies. They dress in traditional folk costumes. Ceremonies for the appeasement of the spirits are performed while Kong Khao or rice-piling processions are held. During the three-day long festivities folk games are played and local cuisines are exhibited and sold.

An interesting part of the Pattaya celebrations, people all over Thailand come to enjoy the three-day long festivity held in the month of April. One can get a glimpse of the delicious delicacies of the Pattaya and enjoy the taste of the authentic local cuisines. Interesting to watch is the procession of people in their traditional folk dresses thus emphasizing the culture of the land that gained importance more because of its promotion of tourism.
