Transportation in Baguio

The Lokan Airport in Baguio provides for efficient transportation in the city.
It is about 20 minutes by car to the south of the city. On account of the length
of the runway, the airport is not availed by the commercial jet planes. It is
used only by propeller-driven aircraft. The Asian Spirit flies on a regular
basis to and from Manila. The entire journey of about an hour makes getting
to Baguio convenient. Usually the flights are scheduled in the morning only,
for by the evening the fog sets in.
Baguio is covered by an extensive road network. Some of the most common routes that are accessed by the transportation system in the city are: Manila, the Marcos Highway, and the Naguilan Road. The Kennon Road remains occasionally blocked during the landslides in the rainy season. The route to Baguio through Kennon Road is as scenic as it is dangerous. The Halsema Road is also known as the Mountain Trail. It is another means of transportation in Baguio and leads north through the mountainous portion of the Cordillera Autonomous Region.
