The Teatro Junquera is the name of the oldest theatre of Cebu. This theatre
was built by Innocencio Junquera, the civil as the political governor of Cebu.
This theatre was inaugurated on the 19th of April in the year 1986. This theatre
was later owned by the Pedro Royer (a businessman and a film director). The
owners of this theatre changed from time to time and at that time when Jose
Avila owned this theatre, it came to be known as the Teatro Cine Oriente and
not Teatro Junquera. Presently it is referred to as the Cine Oriente.
