Manila the cosmopolitan capital city of Philippines is located in the west coast of Luzon Island. This awe inspiring and bustling city of Philippines can be easily accessible from all over the country as well as from many foreign destinations. Similarly getting around in Manila is equally easy as the city has a vast network of transport modes.

Basically there are four modes of transportation in Manila that are easy to use. Manila city has an extensive and good network of highways that connect it with other cities and municipalities. Public transport is cheap however during the peak hours in the morning and evening it may get crowded.

Buses: Manila has very good network of road transport among which bus service is the main. Manila city offers both air-conditioned and regular bus service to all the major routes except Roxas Boulevard. The minimum fare of air-conditioned bus is PhP 8.00 adding 2.00PhP for every succeeding kilometer. While for regular bus, minimum fare is 3.00 PhP in addition of 1.00 PhP for every succeeding kilometer.

Jeepneys: Jeepneys are the evolved version of Jeep that was used by American Armed Force units during the war years. At present it become the most common means of transportation in Philippines. Also called, as "folk arton wheels" minimum fare for the first 4 kilometers is 3.00 PhP adding 50 centovas for every succeeding 500 meters.

LRT: The fastest and the cheapest way to getting around in Manila is through LRT system. Run by Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) LRT has two lines. LRT 1 runs along Taft Avenue from Baclaran in Paranaque to the Bonifacio Monument in Kalookan city. While LRT 2 runs from Santolan in Pasig to Recto in the center of downtown Manila.

Taxis: Like bus service, taxis are quite affordable means of public transport in Manila. Most of the taxis are air-conditioned and use meter for fare. Minimum rates of air-conditioned taxi cost 25.00 PhP and an additional 2.00 PhP for every succeeding 200 meters. Most of the taxis are lined up at major hotels or tourist places.
