Manila being the second most populous city and metropolitan city of Philippines
houses large numbers of hospitals than other cities. Yet it is advisable to know
about the health information of Manila before heading towards it for memorable
vacations or trip.
There are certain things, which has to keep in mind while traveling to Manila.
Regarding health information in Manila, be sure to take all immunizations before
travel. Take proper vaccinations of Hepatitis A and B, Rabies and Typhoid. Malaria
is very common disease in the southeast countries so protect yourself against
mosquito bites.
Other necessary precautions, which you have to take during your stay in
the city, are:
- Make sure your food and drinking water are safe. Do not eat food purchased
from street vendors. Avoid consuming dairy products unless they have been pasteurized.
Avoid closeness with poultry farms, bird markets or other places where poultry
is kept.
- Do not share needles for tattoos, body piercing or injections. It is
advisable not to handle animals especially monkeys, dogs and cats to avoid bites
and serious infections.
- However adequate medical facilities are available in Manila but still
it is far behind than other cities in sanitation and medical care. Medical care
is less or limited in rural or down town areas of the city.
