Entertainment in Jeddah
Saudi Arabia - Al Khobar - Jeddah - Riyadh
Jeddah has many big and good sculptures. While in Jeddah, do enjoy seeing them all. There are something like a thousand sculptures. Some especially worth seeing are the Sadaf Square and the victorious horse square. Sunset at the Jeddah Corniche is never the same. At the Beach, one can camp, or snorkel in the coral reefs. For divers, there are the wrecks too. For the children there are pony and camel rides. Plenty of families stop by for picnics. It is wonderful to feel the sea breeze and savor great food.
The architecture of old houses and the old city is extremely interesting. Of great importance is the Nassif House, built in the 1870s. This house of the Nassif family, one of Jeddah's oldest and most respected merchant clans, was home to 100 family members and their staff. The building has four storeys in the front & seven in the back, and until the 1970s it was the tallest building in Jeddah. Two well known museums are the National Musuem and the Municipality Museum. A famous structure is downtown, not to be missed, is the Queen's building. The area is very big, has many shops and centers, and is a veritable trove for jewels, perfumes, clothes etc.
The Durrat Al Rous is a massive modern tourist village known for many things especially fishing, diving and swimming in the Red Sea. It has golden sand beaches and speedboats, jet ski, wind surfing and refreshments. There are also special children's playgrounds with life attendants. The Jeddah Fountain is said to be the tallest in the world, with a height of 261 meters, and is visible for miles around on a floodlit night.
