Flying in Singapore

Founded in 1928, the Singapore Flying Club began operations with two DH 60 Cirrus Moth Seaplanes.Later another plane was acquired along with three honorary instructors. Instructional flying began mostly over the Harbor area. In the latter half of 1929, Round the Island race took place which spearheaded the sport of Flying in Singapore.

More aircrafts were procured and more instructors were appointed and many more members were allowed entry into the famous Singapore Flying Club. The popularity and the seriousness of flying in Singapore were accentuated by the club.

If one is an owner of a Singapore flying license and is a certified pilot, one may take advantage of the option provided by the Flying Club of visiting memberships which enables one to fly a light airplane in Singapore. The tariff for the plane is charged per hour and is extremely reasonable making flying in Singapore a popular adventurous activity.

For those who do not possess a Singapore flying license or are not certified pilots you may avail of the piloted rides which enables you to share the plane with two other passengers. The charges for piloted rides are also quite reasonable.

The Singapore Flying Club is open from 9 am to 6 pm. Your visit to Singapore will remain incomplete without experiencing a bird's view of the country.
