Empress Place Building Singapore
The Municipal council in the year 1907 gave the name Empress Place Building in tribute to the queen Victoria. Being the oldest pedestrian space in Singapore, the Empress Place Building it gradually became one of the most prominent offices in Singapore that can be viewed from the sea. Two additional structures known as the Memorial Hall and the Tower were erected in the year 1905 and renovations were done on a regular basis. It has a neo Palladian exterior and timber fin windows with patched clay tile roofs. The Doric columns and high ceiling enhances the charm of the Empress Place Building.
