Katong Singapore

Katong is a famous residential area in the eastern part of Singapore. Once it was a barren land, but government transformed it into a beautiful residential area. The area is located in the sea side near the East Coast Park. After independence Singapore government had constrain of space as the population of Singapore was rising. The sea side beauty and the bounteous sea make the locals to settle in this area. There are various villas and mansion which bears the historic importance and significances.

The term 'Kotang' means an exotic species of sea turtle which is now extinct. The other meaning is 'effect of sea mirage', which is well evident in the beautifully planned city named Kotang.
