Singapore River Raft Race

The Singapore River Raft Race is one of the most exciting annual events in Singapore. This event in Singapore is organized to serve organizations such as the rainbow Centre-Balestier Special School, Singapore Cancer Society, Clementi Student Service Centre and the Singapore Polytechnic Overseas Community Service centre.

Here the participants take part in raft races on the Singapore River. The creativity and the amazing styles in which the participants make their rafts are worth mentioning. Everything that floats are used as rafts and set to race on the river. The two major titles for which they compete at the Singapore River raft race are the Fastest Raft and the Most Innovative Raft. This is a 100 meter race and by no means a small scale event in Singapore. Participated by mainly students, the Singapore River raft race also has teams from the US Navy and the Air Force. Rafts are constructed form materials ranging from drink bottles, cans, oil drums, coconuts to old furniture and brooms. Other events of the Singapore River Raft Race include races such as Tamiya Car race, 'Seashell' Raft Race, Meida Race, Inter School Raft Race, Seagate Inter Branch Raft Race and the International Raft Race.
