Built in 1996, the world famous Singapore Art Museum specializes in the different art forms of Singapore and Southeast Asia. The permanent collection of art pieces that the museums houses amounts to more than 6500. The museum has the largest collection of 20th century South-East Asian collection of art works. The museum has 13 massive galleries where the masterpieces are displayed. The collection of the Singapore Art Museum includes works from the famous artists like Georgette Chen, Liu King, Cheng Chong Swee, Huang Yao and Lim Tze Peng. The works of these artists are well maintained by the authorities of the museum. The permanent collection in the museum is displayed in two exhibitions that are known as Imaging Selves and Landscape in Southeast Asian Art. The travel exhibitions arranged by the museum includes works by Leonardo da Vinci, Liu Kang, Cheng Chong Swee, Lim Tze Pen and Chang Tien. Guided tours of the Singapore Art Museum are available in different languages like English, Japanese and Mandarin. The museum is open from Monday to Sunday between 10 am and 7 pm. the approximate time to complete a tour of the Singapore Art Museum is about 45 minutes.
