Singapore Science Centre Singapore
The Science Council of Singapore in 1969 proposed the idea of building a science centre. The architecture was decided and then approved by the Architectural Design Competition. The architect chosen to build the Singapore Science Centre was Raymond Woo. On 10 December 1977, the museum was officially inaugurated by Dr Toh Chin Chye, the erstwhile Minister-in-charge of the Science Centre Board.
The science museum consists of a Main Building, the Annexe Building, an Omni-Theatre and outdoor gardens. The four storied building has 14 educational laboratories, theatre and a library.
With a mission to promote learning, interest and creativity in science and technology which will result in overall development of the nation and its human resources, Singapore Science Centre, Singapore strives to enrich the lives of people.
The Singapore Science Centre, Singapore is open from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10 am and 6 pm. The museum offers facilities like food and beverage, souvenir shop and the Omni-theatre. The admission fee of the museum is extremely nominal.
