Botanic Gardens in Singapore

The Botanic Gardens in Singapore is an attempt by Sir Stamford Raffles to display some of the rare and exquisite varieties of plants and trees. These are all stored in the Botanic Gardens in Singapore. But the present form of the garden has been founded by the Agro Horticultural Society in the year 1859. This garden attracts visitors from all round the globe.

Stretched over 52 hectares of land, the Botanic Gardens in Singapore is a representative of the tropical island's luxuriant parks. Located in the hub of the city, the Botanic Gardens is one of the famous sightseeing areas in Singapore. This garden houses an amazing collection of outstanding plants. Some of the major attractions here are the National Orchid Garden, the Ginger Garden, and the Evolution Garden. The myriad and large variety of plant collections and species including many rare species speak of the diversity and richness of the collections here. The 20,000 orchid plants on display will certainly surprise you. Besides accommodating the numerous orchid exhibits and water characteristics, the National Orchid Garden also houses an unusual bromeliad collection from Central and South America. The Symphony Lake is an ideal place to recluse and relax after going round the park. The outdoor concerts here give amusement to the visitors in the lap of nature. You can also buy some orchid brooches and souvenirs with Peranakan- pepped up contrives at the RISIS Store situated at the entrance of the garden. If you're hungry after strolling round the Botanic Gardens then step into the French restaurant here -the Au Jardin.

Opening Hours

The Botanic Gardens in Singapore is open from 5.00 am to 12 .00 in the midnight daily. The National Orchid Garden is open from 8 .30 am to 7.00 pm regularly. The RISIS Store is open from daily from 8.45 am to 5.45 pm. So, if you want to buy anything, visit this garden during this time.
