The Little India in Singapore reminds of the Indians who had come with the Sir Stamford Raffles to assist him and as soldiers. In the late 19th century one finds the migration increased from India as people came in search of jobs be it as laborers or as civil servants.

One can also witness the application of henna on the palms and the feet of the ladies, the ayurveda the traditional Indian medicine and the venders weaving flowers into garlands.
