Offering several athletic and recreational facilities and being located at the eastern edge of the Mt. Geumjeong, the Geumgang Park in Busan is often called the Geumjeong Physical Training Park, Busan.

Covering an area of 1,550,000 square meters and surrounded by Chungruylsa shrine on the southeast and a mountain fortress from the northern to the southern crest, the Geumjeong Physical Training Park, Busan is renowned for its scenic landscape adorned with old pine trees and magnificent rocks and cliffs. The park resembles a miniature version of the Mt. Geumjeong and that is why the park was called the Sokeumgang (small Geumgang), in the past.

The Geumjeong Physical Training Park, Busan has been appointed as a physical training park, which provides not only athletic facilities and jogging path to keep you in good shape but also offers different types of entertainment facilities. The main attraction of the Geumgang Park is the 1,260m-long cable car, which run on top of the mountain offering you an exquisite view of the elegant figure of Mt. Geumgang, the beautifu thick pine forest underneath and the whole city of Busan.

The other attraction of the Geumgang Park includes cultural relics and historical sites such as Dokjindaeamun, (the site of the inner gate of ancient Dongnae Castle), Mangmiru gate tower, Imjin Dongnae Soldiers Tomb, a zoo, a botanical garden, world sea life exhibition hall, Folk-art Performance Area, where every weekend several events are held and other recreational facilities like mountaineering or hiking along a well marked climbing course, different types of rides and etc. Korea’s largest public bathhouse, Dongnae Spa is also not far from this park.

All these attractions in and around the Geumjeong Physical Training Park, Busan, draws thousands of tourists here and undoubtedly the park has emerged as one of the famous tourist spots of Busan.

Adult- round trip 5,000 won
Adult- one way 3,000 won
Child- round trip 2,500 won
Child- one way 1,500 won

How to get there:
Take bus No. 77, 80, 110, 210, 211, or 301. Or take take Subway Line No. 1 and get off at Oncheonjang (Exit 1) and walk for 15 minutes.
