UN Memorial Park Busan

The United Nations Memorial Park, Busan is a martyr’s place. For the soldiers of 16 countries who sacrificed their lives during the Korean War from 1950-1953 is located in Daeyon-4-dong. United Nations Memorial Park, Busan the park is a serene and calm that stretches across a grassy plain area of 135,000 m2.

The Memorial Service Hall and the Memorabilia Hall were constructed in the year 1964 and 1968. The Main Gate of the park has been dedicated by the citizens of Busan on 1966. Several annual functions take place here.

there are about 11,000 of the UN’s brave soldiers laid to rest at this memorial cemetery in the years from 1951 to 1954, about 2,300 of them are from Belgium, Colombia, Ethiopia, Greece, Philippines. Some of the countries took back their soldiers like Thailand, US, France and Norway. Currently there are 281 Australians, 378 Canadians, 44 French, 117 Dutch, 34 New Zealanders, 1 Norwegian, 36 Koreans, 11 South Africans, 462 Turkish, 885 British, 36 Americans, 4 unknown, and 11 non-combatants-each graves has an epitaph of the person’s history.
The trees and shrubs in the cemetery have been donated by the government, organizations, and individuals.
How to Go to UN Memorial Park
From Busan Station:
Bus No. 134 (30 min ride).
From Gimhae Airport:
A limousine bus bound for Seomyeon and to Seomyeon Lotte Hotel.
Take city bus No. 25, 68, or 93 to United Nations Memorial Cemetery and Peace Park totally takes 1 hour and 30 minutes
