The History of Busan China Town
To develop trade and commercial exchange between China and Korea, a Chinese consulate was opened in 1884. Following the establishment of Chinese school and church gradually the Chinese community of Busan China Town grew both in number and wealth. During 1940’s the area flourished by importing Chinese silk, medicine herbs and Chinaware. Now the area is shorn of its former glory owing to The Korean War and regulations against Chinese in 1960’s and limited to only a pocket in Busan.
