If you have a liking for a placid, cool beach caressed by undulating waves away from the bustling city then Songjeong, Busan is the perfect place for you. The picturesque road winding through Dalmaji Hill will lead to Songjeong beach. This 1.2 Km long beach made of fine sand is dotted with marble like tiny pebbles which are actually dried seashells gathered in large amount over a period of time. Songjeong, Busan was first opened in July 1965 and since then remains open from 1st July to 31st August each year.
The beautiful seashore, shallow water, gentle slope and mild waves make this place popular with both tourists and swimmers to enjoy the foamy ocean waves.

Tourists can experience the pleasing tours by motor boats or cruise ships. Anglers can indulge in fishing at the rocky northeastern strip of the beach, full with fresh water. Another major attraction of the Songjeong Beach is the Songiljeong Pavilion, offering a marvelous view of the sunrise and moonrise. A large number of tourists gather here every year to celebrate the Harvest Full-Moon Seaweed Festival and the Songjeong Beach Festival.

Not yet as commercialized as Haeundae or Gwangalli Beach, Songjeong, Busan is lying peacefully as the oasis of unspoiled natural beauty. At present the area has many motels and hotels, quality restaurants, eateries, bungalow-shaped bars, and raw fish centers.
