Mangbuseok Busan
South Korea - Daegu - Incheon - Jeju - Seoul - Daejeon
Just 250m above the sea level and situated around the uppermost peak in the center of Taejongdae, the seashore is dotted with beautiful formation of rocks like such as the Sinseonbawi rock or the Sinseon Rock also called the Rock of the Mountain God as there is a myth that gods and goddesses came down here to relax. Just over this rock and below the lighthouse of the park stands the Mangbuseok, Busan, a lonely stone on a flat ledge facing Japan.
Mangbuseok, Busan is a legendary rock because associated with it is a story that long back a woman got changed into this stone. The old story states that once there was a very faithful wife, who sat here eagerly waiting for her husband, who had been captured by Japanese and had been taken to Japan. The wife while waiting here all through her life for her missing husband to return home finally turned into this rock of Mangbuseok, Busan.
Mangbuseok, Busan is thus not only famous as a magnificent rock formation but also because of the legend associated with it. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the gorgeous Taejongdae Resort Park covered with thick forest.
